The "Dokova and Dokov for the Future" Foundation, with the financial support of the "International Projects" Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, helped more than 600 Ukrainian children and their parents
The “Dokova and Dokov for the Future” Foundation concluded an agreement for the provision of grant-in-aid from the “International Projects” Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the amount of BGN 62,161.12.
Activities during the funding period include:
- Bulgarian language for Ukrainian children from 3 to 10 years old.
- Bulgarian language for Ukrainian children from 10 to 18 years old.
- Bulgarian language for Ukrainian teachers and psychologists
- Basics of the Ukrainian language – letters for children from 3 to 5 years old.
- Ukrainian language for children from 6 to 10 years old.
- Basics of mathematics – numbers for children from 3 to 5 years.
- Mathematics for children from 6 to 10 years.
- Psychological help, art therapies and role plays for emotional intelligence and resilience
for children from 3 to 10 years. - Psychological help for parents
- Neurogymnastics, dance and yoga for children from 3 to 10 years old.
- Festive events – animation, tricks and disco for children from 3 to 10 years old.
The results of the activities described above are remarkable. Mental health and psychosocial support for children and their parents is available in a safe and secure learning environment. Children have equal access to inclusive and quality learning opportunities. Children, as well as teachers, have equal access to learning the Bulgarian language.
Children’s Center “Smiles for Ukraine” in the city of Varna is a free workshop for Ukrainian children, created by the “Dokova and Dokov for the Future” Foundation. The children’s center provides children with activities in a protected environment.
Here they communicate with their peers, and teachers provide appropriate activities and psychological support in order to reduce stress, improve their psychological state, develop their emotional intelligence and resilience.
Half-day classes are for children aged 3 to 10 in Ukrainian language, mathematics, art therapy, drawing, dancing, yoga, entertainment and lots of games. Bulgarian language lessons are also held, including for the youngest ones using a special methodology through games. For parents, therapy sessions are conducted by psychologists for the progress of each child.
We at the “Dokovi and Dokov for the Future” Foundation are happy that thanks to the funding provided for the “Smiles for Ukraine” Children’s Center, we were able to give another breath of hope to Ukrainian children and their parents and support their easier integration into society .
