New opportunities for development and support: LEGO®Education for children with SEN and psychological support for parents at the Child Development Center "Smiles"
The “Dokova and Dokov for the Future” Foundation successfully implemented its new project in the Center for Children’s Development “Usmivki” in 2024. LEGO®Education educational activity sets designed for children with special needs are now available. These activities are held weekly and are aimed at children between the ages of 3 and 7, including children at risk and children with special educational needs (SEN), as well as children with Down syndrome.
In addition, on January 19, 2024, the first monthly support meeting for parents of children with Down syndrome took place. This initiative is part of the second direction of the project, which includes psychological support and organizing monthly groups for mutual help and support. The events are held in partnership with the Life with Down Syndrome organization.
The project is implemented thanks to the financial support of the “TELUS International Bulgaria Community Board” foundation, thereby contributing to the development and support of children and their families in the community.
