The department for newborns in Dobrich Medical
Center received a new modern incubator
Every 12th child in Bulgaria is born prematurely, or over 6,000 children on an annual basis need neonatological care.
Department of neonatology is the only one for the city of Dobrich and Dobrich Region. It accepts and treats newborns and premature children born in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology /OAG/ of “MBAL-Dobrich” JSC, as well as those with delayed postpartum adaptation from OAG – Balchik and Kavarna.
Annually, the number of newborns and premature babies who passed through the department is about 900. Approximately 120 children who need intensive treatment pass through the Intensive Care Unit of the Department of Neonatology.
The “Dokova and Dokov for the Future” Foundation donated a top-class incubator for newborns, model “Isolette C 2000”, supplied by the company “Dreger”, worth
BGN 15,500
One of the causes behind which the foundation team is supporting the neonatology departments. The desire is to carry out various similar donations of medical equipment every year, which will support smaller towns in Bulgaria.
The new incubator is one part of the intensive care unit the ward has. The function is to maintain temperature control, providing suitable conditions for infusing medications to premature babies, tube feeding and ensuring good comfort with suitable air humidity.
The equipment is equipped with sensors for monitoring the parameters. It is possible to include additional devices, for example, a monitor for monitoring heart and respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, and others, which are necessary to monitor the condition of the child under intensive care.
One of our causes is to help premature babies who need specialized care. This is also the purpose of the donation, to support medicine and the neonatology department in Dobrich, and subsequently other cities in the country. Of extreme importance and importance are the care given to premature babies. Children are our future! It is important that they are healthy!
