Dokova and Dokov Foundation for the Future supports an international film production dedicated to Bulgaria's cultural heritage
The Dokova and Dokov for the Future Foundation has become an official partner of the prestigious British production company SandStone Global, by providing a donation of £15,000 for the creation of the documentary film “Treasures of Bulgaria.”
The production is part of the world-renowned series “Treasures of the World”, hosted by historian and television personality Bettany Hughes, recipient of the OBE distinction. Her films are broadcast in over 120 countries, reaching a global audience of more than 2 billion people.
A specially adapted version of the film – “Wonders of Bulgaria” – will be broadcast on the BBC News Channel, with international distribution scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2025.
“We believe that Bulgaria deserves to be shared with the world – not only through words, but through inspiring visuals. Our support for this project is part of our long-term mission to promote culture, education, and the development of national identity,” say the founders of the Foundation, Vladimir Dokov and Irina Dokova.
The film presents Bulgaria as a land of ancient civilizations, unique nature, profound spirituality, and timeless culture – a message that is already finding a place in the hearts of millions of viewers around the world.
Treasures of Bulgaria will be available to audiences in the USA and Canada through platforms such as BBC Select, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Roku, reaching a potential audience of 370 million people.
Through this support, the Dokova and Dokov for the Future Foundation stands behind an international production that not only tells the story of Bulgaria – it presents the country as a true treasure on the global cultural map.
The Treasures of Bulgaria project is a natural continuation of the Foundation’s mission to reveal the richness of our history and identity to the world. Such partnerships are an expression of its aspiration to build bridges between the past and the future, between the local and the global, between the Bulgarian and the universal.

By supporting this project, the Foundation sends a clear message:
Bulgaria has something to give to the world – and we believe this.
