We support the Foundation
"Life with Down Syndrome"
with the Adapted Swimming project!

A campaign of the "Dokova & Dokov for the Future" Foundation

“All children are stars, some just shine differently”
One of the main activities of the Dokova and Dokov for the Future Foundation is the protection of children with special needs, as well as personal development and integration into society.
Part of this is the financial support we have provided to the Foundation for Life with Down Syndrome for the past three years, providing free swimming instruction.
And in the year 2025, 11 children with Down syndrome from the city of Down syndrome will receive free swimming lessons. 11 children with Down syndrome will have the opportunity to train twice a week.
Why is swimming a therapy for children with Down syndrome?
Adapted swimming is an opportunity for children with Down syndrome to immerse themselves in the world of movement and freedom in the water. For these children who face physical and cognitive challenges, water is where they can express themselves and develop their unique abilities.
Adapted swimming has several key benefits for children with Down syndrome:
- Strengthens muscles and helps children control their movements better.
- Develops balance, flexibility and reflexes.
Improves bone strength. - Helps the respiratory system, reduces muscle tension and straightens posture.
- Increases general tone and self-esteem – children become more confident, independent and motivated. as part of its work to support children with disabilities and special educational needs.

The emotional and social impact of adaptive swimming
Adapted swimming is not limited to physical benefits – it also has a profound emotional and social impact on children. Water provides a sense of freedom and safety that helps them release stress and tension. Striving for success in the water gives them confidence and boosts their self-esteem.
Also, adapted swimming is a prerequisite for social integration. The project of the “Dokova and Dokov for the Future” Foundation brings together children with Down syndrome and their families so that they can socialize and create strong bonds and long-lasting friendships.
Together towards a brighter future
The story of these 11 children in Varna presents how adapted swimming can change the lives of children by connecting with the power of water. The “Dokova and Dokov for the Future” Foundation and the “Life with Down Syndrome” Foundation create an opportunity for these children to discover limitless opportunities and develop their potential.
The project not only supports the physical development of the children, but also the mental, which in turn helps them grow.
Having Down syndrome does not make you different from others. It makes you unique like everyone else.
