Every 12th child in Bulgaria is born prematurely — more than 6,000 children per year are in need of neonatal care. The neonatology department in Dobrich is the only one serving the entire city and Dobrich Region, receiving approximately 900 newborns annually, of which around 120 pass through the intensive care unit.
The foundation donated a top-class newborn incubator, model “Isolette C 2000”, supplied by the company “Dräger.” The new incubator maintains temperature control, provides appropriate conditions for administering medication, tube feeding, and ensures good comfort through adequate air humidity.
This donation was also an expression of the foundation’s lasting commitment — to carry out similar donations of medical equipment every year for smaller towns across Bulgaria. Children are our future — it matters that they are healthy.
The equipment is fitted with parameter monitoring sensors and allows for the connection of additional devices — such as a monitor for heart and respiratory rate, oxygen saturation and more — everything necessary to monitor a child under intensive care.
The littlest ones need the most specialized care — and this conviction stands behind our continued efforts. As part of its activities, the foundation donated specialized medical equipment to the neonatology department of the hospital.
A modern thermal bed was donated, providing warmth and comfort to newborns immediately after birth. The equipment not only offered comfort, but also served as a resuscitation unit with a suction system and oxygen supply when needed.
This was another step in fulfilling our mission — to support newborns and improve conditions in neonatology departments across the country. This cause has continued and will continue, because we believe every child deserves the best start in life.

The department team shared that the new equipment has been of enormous benefit, as the existing resuscitation tables are over 20 years old and there is always a shortage of incubators.
The Foundation “Dokova and Dokov for the Future” donated a specialized mobile bathing system — an innovative solution that “brings” the bathroom to the children when they cannot reach it themselves. The gesture was an expression of care, relief and dignity for the young patients.
The system provides better hygiene, reduces the risk of infection and makes care for children with serious conditions easier, safer and more accessible. Most importantly, it brings comfort and peace of mind to young patients for whom daily procedures are a challenge.
We are grateful to the team at the Home for Medico-Social Care for Children – Varna for the dedication with which they care for every child, regardless of their condition. We were glad to be part of this change — with thought, with action and with faith in a better future.
Together with this donation, the children from our Child Development Centre “Usmivki” in Varna created colorful drawings to decorate the rooms of the Home — a gesture from one child to another, bringing color, life and humanity.
