"Music therapy approaches and techniques when working with normal children and children with special educational needs"

In today’s world, music transforms our lives in incredible ways. Its role in the development and support of children, both normal and those with special educational needs, is particularly important. On November 15, 2023, the “Dokova and Dokov for the Future” Foundation, the “USMIVKI” Child Development Center and the Bulgarian Music Therapy Association organised an event aimed at researching and applying music therapy approaches and techniques.

Music therapy uses music as a tool to support children’s emotional, social and cognitive development. From rhythms and melodies to songs and instrumental exercises, music can stimulate the senses and improve communication skills.

During the event, we talked about topics directly related to creative expression, the development of adaptive abilities, techniques for developing communicative and social skills and how music therapy helps them!
