Andrea Kotsinova - face of "Sofia - European Capital of Sports"
Andrea Kotsinova is the new face of “Sofia – European capital of sports” together with the 15-year-old table tennis player Ioan Velichkov. Both Ioan and Andrea are among the most progressive young hopes of Bulgarian sports, who have already achieved serious success on the international stage. The capital’s mayor Yordanka Fandakova stated during the ceremony on 06.03.2023 that “In the face of the two, young people will have a serious example of hard work, discipline and perseverance. It is important for us that such talented Bulgarian athletes be an example of both an active lifestyle and prevention against all the negative phenomena that accompany the development of young people. “Sofia – European Sports Capital” attracted hundreds of thousands, 103 events are planned in the program for 2023 alone.
16-year-old Andrea Kotsinova returned with silver and bronze from the European Youth Olympic Festival in Italy in January this year, and in the last six years she won six awards – three of them gold, from the Youth Olympic Festivals of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee. Ioan, for his part, is the winner of three World Cup bronze medals.
The “Dokova and Dokov for the Future” Foundation fully supports the young competitor by providing the financing of sports equipment, the costs of training, camps and preparation for competitive events in the country and abroad.
